Hi! I’m Autumn Leonard. I am an anti-racism trainer and facilitator who creates thoughtful, fun, engaging, high-quality, child-centered programming that furthers racial justice. I also teach yoga in NYC schools through the Urban Yoga Foundation. You can read more about my philosophy and practice in the HOW WE DO section.

I inherited a love of equality from my parents who braved laws against interracial marriage and got legally hitched in 1960. When I was was eight years old, I accidentally stumbled onto a stage debut at the Edinburgh Fringe. That sparked my love for theater and storytelling.

I am now a mother of two. I know how important play is in education.

I bring to storytelling many years of justice work. As the Creative Action Coordinator for United for a Fair Economy, I used theater techniques to help craft press events and stage creative social actions. I then worked as the Community Programmer for the International Festival for Arts and Ideas in New Haven before making a leap into film. I wanted to build on my undergraduate degree in Theater Studies from Yale. So I attended  the Radio-Television-Film program at the University of Texas at Austin. I have been a trainer for Ruckus and a puppet builder for Art & Revolution. I have  chaired the Race Task Force at Kolot Chayeinu, supporting of other Jews of color like myself and am a core member of the Black Jewish Liberation Collective.
